As a sum of all of its parts, it's very nice. It all goes together to make a nice listen and I enjoyed it.
Brian Wilson's favourite Beach Boys album, and I can see why, it's a delightful little album. Soft, mellow and gorgeous both musically and lyrically.
Tracks such as the title track and "Wake The World" are just sublime...Brian's little ditty "Busy Doin' Nothin'" is brilliant, a tale of "the day in the life of Brian" that actually leads you to his address in Bel Air. Along with tracks that just groove easy..."Anna Lee, The Healer", "When A Man Needs A Woman" and Dennis Wilsons first two compositions "Little Bird" and "Be Still" are beautiful tracks.
The only thing that lets this album down is it's pitifully short playing time (even by 1968 standards), this album clocks in around the 25 minute mark...still the quality makes up for the quantity.
