It's yet another solid release from the JJJ series but i'm finding myself skipping most of the middle of disc one because of unfamiliarity.
The second disc is strangely a lot stronger this year which is kind of cool and changes that big predictability these compilations normally offer.
Biggest surprise was the omission off Foster The People's 'Call It What You Want' which is really taking off in the media.

I find it difficult to rate this. The full countdown was overall brilliant and easily the best that I've heard all the way through. The problem I have is that I don't think this compilation does it justice. While it does fairly represent the vast genres in the countdown, as well as justifiably emphasis on Australian entries, there are too many high placing songs and artists that have been excluded. I don't claim to understand what goes behind the scenes with licencing of songs, but it seems odd that despite 3 entries, there's no Bon Iver song on this, (I remember the same thing happening with Arctic Monkeys in the 2006 one) though I guess along with Jay-Z & Kanye West, they're not really a party starter :P Also I'm a little disappointed after getting a record 8/10 of my votes in, only 3 of them made it here.
However, all things considered, this is still a top quality release and the songs that I love far outweigh the ones I dislike, I just think it had the potential to be better. 4.5

I enjoy listening to this. They could always be better obviously, but if I don't just base it on the 40-odd songs I'd most have wanted on there, and take it as a straight compilation, it's a great mix and a lot of fun. It's not like I like everything on here, but the songs I don't like aren't all too similar that they become tedious, and the spreading of the dubstep and hip-hop tracks is done well. I could have done without "OMIGOD!!!!!111!!!!1!!!1!!" though.

Zwischen vier und fünf Sternen - ich runde die 4.5 für diese Ausgabe der australischen Compi-Reihe knapp auf...

Pretty awesome compilation, but I am disappointed for some of the exclusions, 'Otis' a prime example. I think this is better than Volume 14 and thus is the best one I own. It was a great countdown and this represents that reasonably well.
