Eine hübsche Ballade dieser tollen Frau, die jedoch in keiner Weise ihr Leistungsmaximum abruft. Das wird im Ozean der Musikgeschichte verfließen.

Alicia greift immer wieder aktuelle Themen in ihren Songs auf, hier geht es um die Polizeigewalt gg Schwarze in den USA - ein sehr aufwühlendes Thema! Da bleibt auch mir ein Klos im Hals stecken wenn ich das Video sehe bzw den Song höre, mich bewegt Alicia Keys mit ihrer Stimme und ihrer Hingabe und Inbrunst immer wieder auf's neue!

Das Video hab ich bei Kavka Deluxe mit dem Thema "ergreifende Performances" (da war auch der Oberlangweiler Michael Schulte mit seiner Acoustic Session vertreten) gesehen. Hochwertige Musik, die mit dem schlichtesten Mitteln Piano + Stimme eine hohe Wirkung erzielt. Besser als "Underdog". 4,5+

Schöne Piano-Ballade. 4+*

Erneut eine wohlklingende, aber musikalisch nicht mitreißende Klavierballade.

Bei dieser dramatischen Geschichte, wäre höchstens ein Hardrock-Song angemessen. Das liegt aber nicht im Repertoire von Alicia Keys. So strahlt die Ballade am Piano große Innerlichkeit, große Trauer aus. Und Stolz. Eben nicht noch mehr Aggression.

Eine große Musikerin. Ein großer Song.

Bei dieser aus Anlass der durch George Floyds Tod ausgelösten Proteste entstandenen Ballade handelt es sich meines Erachtens um die stärkste Alicia-Keys-Aufnahme seit Jahren. Das diskrete und doch effektvolle Klavierspiel und der eindrückliche Gesang der Interpretin sorgen für ein musikalisches Gänsehauterlebnis. Hörenswert!

Für mich das absolute Highlight auf einem wieder nur durchschnittlichen Album von Alica. Staetz hat es sehr treffend beschrieben.
