Schwülstiger Country-Song mit seltsamen Lyrics a la "I'm a white man living in the southland - just like you I'm more than what you see" - soll wohl was bewirken - Platz hat hier aber nur der Redneck ...

If you don't judge my gold chains, I'll forget the iron chains"). Der Sturm der Empörung ist dementsprechend in den USA. Da hat sich der gute Brad wohl ein Eigentor geschossen!

mittelmässiger Country Rap-Titel…denke, man wollte hier schlichtweg zuviel, abgerundete 3.5…

#77 in den Billboard Hot 100…

The hysteria around this track was more annoying then the track itself.

More boring than anything else.

As a song, it's quite average.

Expect this to fall on deaf ears because the 1* option is so ruthlessly abused on this site to the point that it cancels out its impact not only by oversaturation but through the irrationality it carries with it, no matter where it comes from.

So I say this having given out just one goose (+1?) this year, that this is undoubtably the worst song I've heard this decade. Between the reinforced stereotyping, the utterly inept understanding of racial tension, and unintentional ignorance that surpasses the hypothetical ignorance in the song, and you've got a serious disaster going. That Paisley handled this sort of Southern identity issue so competently just a year prior with "Southern Comfort Zone" makes this misfire all the more bizarre.

Also it's an unhealthy 6 minutes long amounting to nothing but embarrassment. How delightful we are to live in a time where the Billboard charts actively reward music for being terrible; the list of people who actually liked "Friday" surely outnumber the fans of this by a significant degree.
