die stimme strengt an, dazu das leidige taktklatschen.

Kann nicht so ganz überzeugen.

Lucid Dreams was one of my favourite hits of 2018, so I was very eager to hear this when it was released, and wow I was disappointed with what a mess it was. I quite disliked it. Upon a second listen I didn't think much more of it, but over the new few days after that I found little parts of it getting stuck in my head and felt compelled to listen to it more and more. Before I knew it I was loving the song almost as much as Lucid Dreams. It's ridiculous and over the top and so hilarious, but I genuinely think it's fantastic. The vocal is so passionate that at times it's way too much, but that really sells the emotion of the lyrics and adds a real legitimacy to the song. While I don't really relate to the lyrics, I love them; the desperate, tortured nature of them is at another level from other tales of heartbreak, and they work so well with the vocal on offer. This is excellent.
